Easty finishes 6th achieving his best result of 2013 so far and looks to improve in the 2nd half of the season

James East  National Superstock 1000 2013
Round 6 Snetterton

Increasing temperatures throughout the weekend made it fantastic conditions for the British Superbike Championship at Snetterton and with this round being the last of the first half of the season it was time for me to bring together all I’ve learnt so far this season to see what was now needed to push for podiums in the 2nd half of the season

Free Practice
I felt comfortable straight away as we had tested at Snetterton the Tuesday before. I improved straight away from our test time by 0.4 with a 1:52:641 which put me 3rd overall on a crowded track of 52 riders.

Qualifying 1
We pushed a bit harder in this session and I ended the session in 5th place and improved by 3 tenths.
I found the bike to be sat a little low once we pushed in to the low 1:52’s so made some changes but wasn’t completely satisfied. The qualifying time was 1:52:354.

Qualifying 2
In this session we put some more weight on the front of the bike and it helped me to hold a line but the rear of the bike was unpredictable and quite unstable.
I improved anyway by pushing a little harder, but not over the limit, to a time of 1:52:235, this put me 5th in session again but qualified 6th as Jimmy Storar had a faster time from the first qualifying session.

I  was happy with the 2nd row position as this is what we set out to achieve but wasn’t satisfied with the setup, we was looking for some more grip on the side of the tyre but didn’t quite find it. Either way my confidence was up, I knew I could run the pace whether I was comfortable with the bike or not.

Warm Up
Dave and I tried a softer spring for warm up to try and generate some feel from the rear of the bike but this was unsuccessful, it made the bike softer naturally but I didn’t gain the feel I wanted. The added squat meant that in the fast corners the bike was sitting down making the front rake out a bit too far forcing me wide. It was worth a try but we would return to the qualifying set up with some slight damping changes. My practice starts were awful to, so I was concentrating on the start for the rest of the day.

Race
I got a great launch but Jimmy Storar moved over into my path making me check my throttle. I held my own though on the first lap and was in 9th.
On lap 2 I moved past Filip Backlund at the Bomb hole, it was pretty last minute but I made it stick and set off after Jimmy Storar. The gap was about a second or just over but I closed most of that in a lap. I felt really strong at the start of the race.

On lap 4, 5 and 6 we were behind the safety car after Josh Day crashed at the left after the back straight. He was fine but it spread dirt and grass across the track. This did me a favour and closed the pack up despite Hudson Kenaugh trying to play games from 5th place under the safety car.
When the race was restarted I quickly realised I was losing some drive off the turn to the other riders and I’d have to make the time up on the brakes. I stuck with them but didn’t make any sudden over takes as the front tyre was on its limit in many of the braking areas and had been giving me warnings.
On lap 8 I pushed by Jimmy Storar to move to 6th and moved up behind Lee Johnston who was strong on the brakes, he however lost the front and fell at the hairpin on lap 9 which moved me to 5th.
I was safe here and Initially closed up to the leaders but had warnings again from the front tyre doing so, I had to change my lines slightly braking earlier as to not lose the front which must of been scorching hot on the 49 degree track temperature.
I missed a few gears on a couple of laps coming on to the back straight which made me lose a second or so combined so I was stuck in 5th.

On the start of the last lap I thought to myself do all you need to do to keep the bike up right to the finish and was overtaken going in to turn one by Filip Backlund. I was strong into turn one and he run wide so I retook him and defended but he still made a move at the hairpin, he clearly had more grip than I did and I did everything I could to get on terms with him but at the flag I was 6th with a best time of 1:52:190.

All in All I am pleased with the result. It is the first time I’ve run at the front and my best qualifying and finish of the season so far. It also confirmed that I have learnt how to ride the bike and from now on we will push for podiums. The business plan as such which was agreed at the start of the year was to learn the bike and class as much as possible in the first half of the season then bring it all together so I could flick the competitive switch in myself to push for race wins. I think this is very possible after I turned up the pace and brought home this finish just 4 seconds off of the race win.

I can’t thank my mechanic Dave Hopkinson of Downshift England enough for his commitment and general hard work this weekend, also for Idaq Motorsport for giving me the best chance to be competitive this year in this class as well as both Pauls of PCR Performance for putting together a fantastic motorbike.

Brands Hatch GP is the next round which is my favourite track. Round 7 will be the first race of the 2nd half of the season. Here I will be pushing for a race win but will be looking to bring home valuable points no matter what. Top 10 in the championship is my goal for the season.

Tough break for East at Knockhill but confidence grows

James East – Idaq Motorsport
Round 5 Pirelli National Superstock Championship – Knockhill

Knockhill is the venue for round 5 after a successful round 4 at Donington Park for the Idaq Motorsport team.
This tight a short circuit promotes great racing but is known for its turbulent weather.

James gets a good start to the weekend underway with early pace on the bumpy  1.27 mile track in his first session on the 1000cc machine. He ends the session 6th in group A on a time of 51.458.

Qualifying 1
After some minor suspension changes James improves after 11 laps but a small error at turn 6 made James lose the front and fall down.
Even so James would qualify 14th overall and miss out Q2 due to wet conditions meaning improvements in time would not have been possible.
Qualifying Time – 51.318

Warm Up
After the bike is re-built James confirms that the bike is in full working order and he is confident that he can move forward in the race.

Race
James gets a fantastic start and is in the hunt with the front runners in 12th position on lap 1 and 2. On lap 3 James misses a gear on a downshift, and further in the lap the gearbox locks up going in to the hairpin.
East battles to change down the gears the whole race through and when the race is red flagged and called on lap 17 James is in 17th position.

East “ I am so disappointed and truly gutted with the result as I know I could have pushed forward in the race, I wanted finishes in the points in every round however the problem with the gearbox could not have been predicted. Something to take away from the weekend is I have cracked the starts, I am confident from now on that with my pace and a good qualifying position I will be able to run at the front and push for top 10’s in every race going forward.
We will participate in the Official BSB Test at Snetterton coming up, I will work to find the ideal set up there for the next round of which I will be aiming for a top 5 result.”

James scores points at 4 out of 4 races from Donington Park Results

James East – Round 4 –National 1000 Superstock Championship – Donington Park

WSBK Weekend

The 4th round of the National 1000 Superstock Championship was not held alongside the British Superbike Championship as normal ,but as a support class to the World Superbike Championship.
Weather conditions would be turned on its head from the start of the weekend to the end, greeting the teams with rain wind and un usually low temperatures, to race day being glorious sunshine and blue skys with temperatures reaching 20 degrees.

Practice

With a wet track and very low temperatures the Idaq team made a decision to not to take part in the practice session with an opinion that nothing was to be gained in the session as dry conditions were predicted for the remainder of the weekend.

Qualifying 1
Again poor temperatures and a wet track would mean the Idaq Motorsport Team would not take part in the session with the same opinion as practice.

Qualifying 2
Track temperatures were up and blue skys were above for the session.  James took to the track but struggled with gearing and suspension issues.
The gearing decision James chose put him in between gears in certain parts of the track making it hard for him to run the corner speed needed. Also the way the bike was set up in terms of suspension meant that James had too much weight over the front end of the bike effecting grip on the brakes.
James would qualify 24th.
James – “ The session was tough and I am not happy with the way I rode,  I could of used the session better but essentially if we had more time on the bike the problems wouldn’t of occurred in the last chance to set a qualifying time. However after looking at the data and talking over the set up with Dave we know how to fix the problems and I will improve for the race. “

Warm Up.
The set up changes were successful, James could brake later and the bike was stable. The change of gearing would mean James could run the necessary gear for each corner so his time in warm up was even faster than his qualifying time.

Race
James gets a great initial launch but gets boxed in at turn 1. James picks off a few people down craner curves and starts his assault through the pack.
East gets through in to the top 20 very quickly and soon catches the pack for the points and  passes Dave Johnson to move in to 14th place. By the time James gets through, the group in front is 4 seconds in front.
At the flag the gap is 2 seconds and James finishes in 14th with a time of 1:33:5, 1.3 seconds faster than his qualifying time!.

EAST – “ I am happy with the way I rode and my progression in the race. As I have little experience at Donington Park my goal was to finish in the points, and we achieved this, however if my qualifying position was better I would of definitely been able to keep with the leading group at the start of the race. The team did a good job and my mechanic Dave was really helpful in the decision for setup for the race, so thank you to them. We will take this data and be fast when we are back at Donington Park later on in the year, at which time I will expect to be battling for the podium. We move on to Knockhill in a few weeks now which is a circuit I’ve had injuries in the past at and has generally not been a favourite of mine, however this year is different. I am very confident in my Kawasaki and my capabilities and I cannot wait to get to work. Top 10 will be my goal for this round. I feel I am improving as a 1000cc rider all the time and everything is going to plan for us to push on for better results in the 2nd half of the season. Thank you to everyone involved and all of my personal sponsors. “

Oulton Park – James breaks in to the top 10 on the Idaq Motorsport Kawasaki

Oulton Park – Round 3 National Superstock 1000 Championship – James East – Idaq Motorsport – 4-6 May 2013

James continues his progression and achieves his first top 10 finish in the Pirelli National 1000 Superstock Championship.

Brands Hatch – 15th
Thruxton – 13th
Oulton Park – 9th

East has scored points in all 3 races in the 2013 Pirelli National Superstock Championship, and in only his 3rd race on the Idaq Motorsport Kawasaki ZX10R he finished in a respectable 9th position moving up 3 spots  to 13th in the championship.

Practice
Just over a week before the meeting, the Idaq Motorsport Team tested at Oulton Park, gathering valuable data and settings prior to the event.
On Saturday there was a sudden down poor before the Practice session, so the team confident in the improving conditions chose not to go out on a risky water logged circuit.

Qualifying.
The sun had come out and the 1000cc Stock machines had a dry track to attack.
James sets a good time straight away, confident in his machine early on after the test. Struggling to find space on track for a clear lap James’s time is set early in the session.
Provisional qualifying position – 4th 1:40:223

Qualifying 2

A dry session again and James puts in a good time early on to sit P1 in the session on a time of 1:39:363.
James would not improve on this time later in the session, with some minor gearbox trouble East settles on his time and ends the session early.
Easty’s combined qualifying position is 7th place. Starting the race from row 2.

Warm Up
The team did a great job over night fitting new gearbox parts and James confirms the improvements in warm up.

Race
James gets a less than average start but is in the front pack on lap one. East is caught in a moment with other riders going straight on at Hizzys but holds his line. On the exit of the chicane James jumps out of gear which leaves a gap of around a second to the leading group.
From here James could run similar times to the leaders but could not make the time up.
On lap 6 James’s team mate Ward puts a late pass at Lodge corner, bumping in to eachother at the apex and for the next 3 laps the race is on for 9th place. However on lap 9 Easty re takes the position at Island Bend and maintains a gap of around 2 seconds to the end of the race in front of Steve Brogan, David Johnson and Peter Ward.

James – “ I am happy with the result as coming in to the round, top ten was the goal for me. As for the race I think I could of made a lot better start, If I did maybe I could of hung on to the leading group but I found my self in a position in the race where the grip was uncertain compared to qualifying so perhaps 9th is all I could do today, and after some small moments in the race I decided this was the case anyway.
The track temperatures were up and I have never ridden in these conditions, I found the bike moving around a lot on the side of the tyre and the bike reactions changed a lot throughout the race. I’m sure the time I had on track and what I experienced in the race is going to be very valuable in races to come and I will be ready.
I can’t express how much I’m enjoying this season, The Idaq Motorsport Team and PCR Performance did a faultless job both in preperation and at the meeting it’s self and I cant thank them enough for this. The bike is fantastic, I’m having fun whilst learning to ride the bike the right way and not pushing past anything I dont know. Top 10 again is my focus for Donington Park in a few weeks where the championship will support WSBK, and again for Knockhill for round 5. From here top 5 will be my goal and I am confident I can achieve this.”

East Earns Championship Points In First Back To Back Races

James East put in two good finishes in his first 1000cc Races in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Brands Hatch and Thruxton.

Brands Hatch Round 1
2013 is a go.

After some freezing cold testing followed a similar set up day at Brands Hatch, putting the all new Idaq Garage Up along with the hospitality area, in the snow.

James East as well as Peter Ward and Paul Curran all sat out Friday practice due to the freezing and wet weather, progress with the set up of the motorcycles would not of been achieved in such track conditions and wasn’t worth the risk.

For Qualifying 1 James eased in to the session, this being the first time James had ridden in anger feedback from the bike made him all the more certain that a lot of changes would need to be made to get the bikes 190-200BHP to the floor and turn. He would end the group B session in 19th place on a 49.181 lap time.

Qualifying 2 The improvements made to the bike helped James find the grip needed to take 1.1 seconds off of his lap time. He gets down to a 48.068 to put Him 13th in session.

With 58 entrants in Superstock at Brands Hatch the class was divided in to two groups ‘A’ and ‘B’
The two classes are combined by fastest times and put together James has a final qualifying position of 22nd next to his team mate Paul Curran.

James – “ We made a big improvement for Qualifying 2 and this showed in the lap times, I was still not able to get the power to the floor early enough so we will trawl the data and see what improvements can be made to try in warm up”

Warm-Up
After changing the way the bike sits the position helps Easty to find the grip he needs, this will help for the race with not only pace, but tyre conservation also.

Race
James gets a good launch for his first race start on the 1000 and James stays out of trouble on the first few short laps.
By lap 6 he is up to 18th place and closing down on the pack to the points positions.
He battles his was from this moment on in a close race. On lap 18 he moves in to a point scoring position of 15th and holds this until the flag.

James “ I am happy to work from 22nd to put myself on the championship board in my first 1000cc race. Winning is why I race and in such a tight class in terms of talent I know I need to learn to race the 1000 the right way to do so. We will work hard towards this from now on. Thank you to my team Idaq Motorsport for a great package, PCR Performance for building a great motorcycle, my mechanic Dave Hopkinson for putting in 110% from the start of the weekend and most of all my personal sponsors for making it possible for me to compete. “

Thruxton

Round 2 is at the fast and flowing Hampshire circuit and again mixed weather is on the cards from the met office.

James enjoys the circuit a lot with some success in the past with Pole positions in superstock 600 and cup podiums in Supersport, however the circuit will prove a lot more technical on the powerful ZX10-R Kawasaki.

East prepares to get on the Idaq Kawasaki ZX10-R

Free Practice
WET – James gets grip from the abrasive surface and gets to work on the set up. Big changes are needed to deal with the flat high speed direction changes and long stretches on the power.
He ends the session in 8th place on a time of 1:25:082.

Qualifying 1
Dry with some damp patches. James pulls his lap time down to a 1:19:989 Putting him 10th in session but frustrated as he wasn’t able to get the ZX10’s power to the floor. Suspension changes including springs were changed after the session to change the way the bike would transfer its weight under power.

East zoned in

Qualifying 2
Torrential Rain. James with a lot to learn on the 1000 but good past knowledge of Thruxton Circuit’s unique grip levels took to the track to try some different settings on the water logged circuit.
He ends the session safely in 8th position.

Warm Up
Sunday morning was bright but damp from Saturdays down poor. James dodged the puddles and ended the session in 11th place. East returns happy after the session realising that the changes made on the previous day worked, making the bike more reactive, finding more grip.

Picture - Ian Hopgood Photography

Race
James gets a good launch cutting to the inside of the pack for turn 1. Bikes are everywhere in the first braking area and James gets forced wide by a rider having to sit up to avoid an incident. Nevertheless Easty ends lap 1 in 18th. In a close race swapping paint James switches positions and stays out of trouble until he makes a move on lap 6 up to 15th. James closes down a pack of riders and moves up to 13th on lap 10 with a view of 10th position but the race is red flagged and stopped after a crash involving 3 riders.
East Finishes 13th beating his Qualifying time by nearly a second. 1:19:040.

Picture - Ian Hopgood Photography

James – “ I enjoyed the race, despite being hindered by a knee slider flying off in the early part of the race, I was gutted when the race was stopped as I had been calm the whole race, staying out of the trouble around me, So I had good grip. I was confident I could push through the group I was in to 10th place then once on my own lapped a good amount faster given the race had gone full difference.
My mechanic Dave and I have worked hard this weekend, trying many different settings to get a good feeling with the bike so I am able to push and we achieved this by race day.
My inexperience on the ZX10 hinders me at the start of the weekend as I do not have a setting from the start I can go fast on, so qualifying is tough. This will change in time because piece by piece we are getting faster and more a custom to the 1000. We are testing now before Oulton Park so I am aiming to get a leg up on the settings before the next race meeting. If this is successful hopefully we can qualify better and run further up the order. ”

2013 Tests

James and the Idaq Motorsport Team have successfully completed 3 tests at Donington Park, Brands Hatch and Snetterton.

Braving the poor weather James and the crew have got to grips with the new ZX10 Kawasakis setting some times to put them up the front of the championship with a lot more pace to in reserve.

The first round of the British Superbike Championship is just a couple of weeks away at Brands Hatch – 05-07 April

James’s reaction – ” I am more than pleased with our performance at the tests. I took it very easy as the ambient temperature never even got close to 10 degrees, however I am taking to the 1000 better than expected and I am starting to get comfortable already.
My plan is to continue this gradual progression, to concentrate, read every piece of data and soak in as much knowledge as humanly possible to work towards the end result I want, which is to win of course. I would like to thank all at Idaq Motorsport for their brilliant efforts and amazing motorcycle. ”

Gearlink Kawasaki British Supersport Silverstone Report

James East To Finish 2012 With Gearlink Kawasaki
Full weekend Report including James and Gearlink’s Success

Win for Wilson & Gearlink Kawasaki, Round 11 Silverstone, Ben Wilson and the Gearlink Kawasaki team had a fantastic weekend at the penultimate round of the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship at Silverstone Circuit taking his first win of the season for the hard working team. Wilson had looked like a different rider all weekend and showed his form in the first sprint race on the Saturday where he finished a strong fifth place. His new team-mate for the weekend James East also had a good debut weekend for the team gaining a 10th and 11th place respectively.

Ben struggled initially with set up during the practice sessions and was only able to qualify the Gearlink Kawasaki in tenth place for the opening race on Saturday. Leaving him with a lot of work to do Ben got a great start and was seventh after the opening lap and was soon setting some fast and consistent lap times and was hunting down the leading pack. He was soon in the mix and was battling with the leaders; he lost out to fourth placed man Billy McConnell by 0.04 and gained fifth.

His strong times in the first race promoted him to fifth on the grid for race two and he was eager to better his result for the second race. Ben got a fantastic start and was involved in what is most likely the most thrilling Supersport race of the season so far. Every lap five riders were battling for the lead and dicing for position; Ben took the lead on several occasions and was locked in a tight battle with Richard Cooper, Jack Kennedy, Christian Iddon and Glenn Irwin until Glenn crashed out.

Ben and Richard Cooper finally made a break in the closing stages of the race but Cooper was making sure that Ben fought hard for the overall win and pushed him to the finish line, 0.3 seconds separated the pair as they crossed the line.

Ben – “All I can say is finally! That has been such a long time coming but a fantastic feeling and so nice to be pack on the podium and actually winning races. It’s been a very long hard season and it does take a knock on effect on your mind and you do start doubting things. It was an amazing race to be involved in and I certainly didn’t get it given to me easily they made me work really hard for it. I’m so pleased for all the Gearlink Kawasaki team they have worked so hard all year from me and to get a win again is just brilliant. I’m so relieved and hope I can go to Brands now and carry on this form it’s mega.”

New team-mate for the weekend was James East and despite a crash in Friday practice, he soon regained his form and got his head down for the rest of the weekend. He was locked in his own tight and close battles further down the field, riding extremely well and very consistently he achieved two very solid results for the Gearlink Kawasaki team.

James – “I’m really pleased to have been given the opportunity by the Gearlink Kawasaki team to join them this weekend at Silverstone. I was pretty angry with myself for crashing in the practice session and really wanted to repay the team for all their hard work. I had two really good races and was having a really good battle in the second race with experienced Supersport rider Billy McConnell. I really enjoyed it and look forward to riding with the team again at Brands Hatch. I’d like to thank Michael and Norma for this experience it’s been great.”

Metzeler Superstock 600s

Jack Groves had a steady weekend at Silverstone Circuit he managed to qualify the Gearlink Kawasaki in 28th place after struggling with an initial set up problem. He rode a good race but was only able to work his way through to 21st, he got up to 18th but made a small mistake and lost a couple of places.

Jack – “It was a pretty tough weekend for me, we struggled to find a set up all weekend and that reflected in my qualifying session and the race result. I just never really found something that worked for me and I just struggled, I’m really gutted with the result and just hope I can finish the season better at Brands Hatch. I made up some places during the race then I got pushed out wide and went from 18th to 21st, I’m pretty gutted.”

jack

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph “I’m absolutely over the moon with the result today for Ben it feels like my first race win it’s just awesome. It’s so good for Ben to be back up at the front again and secure the win he’s deserved all year.

We had a couple of issues over the weekend during practice and qualifying where we picked some wrong tyres and also wrong forks but Ben was able to make amends in both races and he was rewarded with the fifth and the win, it’s just great.

This is just what we all needed and it’s a massive boost for us all going into the final round, Ben needed this for his confidence and we all needed it as a team as everyone has worked so hard this season, we hope it can be carried on to Brands and end the season on a high.

James East was a welcome member of the team this weekend, he rode really well and despite an off on Friday we sat down and had a chat and decided which was the best way forward. We’re really pleased with his results and hopefully this will also give him confidence as he will be riding for us again at the final round of the series at Brands Hatch in a few weeks time.”

DATE VENUE
12th – 14th October Brands Hatch GP

Easty gets first win at Brands Hatch GP

James in action in Race 2 Brands Hatch GPA weekend of glorious sunshine awaited the British Superbike Paddock for round 7 after weeks of rain.
James is currently in 3rd position in the British Supersport Cup Championship, and at his favourite circuit is looking to make up some points on his competitors in front.

Free Practice
James is on the pace straight away, railing around his favourite track to finish the session in 15th place P3 in the cup on a time of 1:30:690 with P2 cup competitor just 2 tenths in front.
Rear suspension changes were made after this session to give more adjustment.

Qualifying
Easty feels the difference with the way the bike is sitting from the suspension changes straight away and finds some extra pace quickly. After pitting for some a final changes before his push for a qualifying time James drops in to the 1:29’s on lap 9 putting him in 11th position, but an engine issue occurs on lap 10 and James has to bring the 56 machine back in to pitlane.
Easty finishes the session in 11th position, P3Cup on a time of 1:29:909, giving him a 3rd row start for Race 1.

Warm Up
A new motor is put in the Mackrory Racing Kawasaki over night before race day on Sunday, and James spends the session running in. East opened the ZX6 up on the last lap and was happy with the engines strength.

James – “ The new motor has had some hard work put in to it with mapping and feels great, I have some extra power in the lower revs which is really helping my drive on the exit of the corners. “

Race 1

James gets a great launch but is cut up in turn 1 by fellow Supersport Cup runner Luke Jones. Jones hits the 56 machine hard enough to snap the front brake lever off just leaving a stub.

Easty drops back to 16th place on lap one after the incident at paddock hill bend and proceeds to start his charge, braking with one finger.

James pushes hard over the 10 laps to finally finish 12th on a time of 1:29:889. This time is good enough to give him a 15th position starting spot for race 2.

Easty – “ I was furious after the first corner incident but got through lap 1. It was difficult braking after I was left with just a short stub for a lever, and definitely did some harm to my pace, but I rode my own race and salvaged what I could. “

Race 2
Easty focuses on getting a good start and is right in the mix on lap 1.
James makes a couple of moves on lap 2 and finds himself in 11th place with a gap to both cup runners Glen Irwin and Luke Jones in a battle with Pauli Pekenan and Sam Warren.
James Bridges the gap over a number of laps on to the back of Irwin and makes a move at paddock Hill Bend. A lap later Irwin stabs underneath East at Druids.
On the exit of Surtees James gets a good run on Irwin but just ahead Warren’s Yamaha stops and Luke Jones hits him flat out on the back straight towards Hawthorns Bend.
The red flag comes out. The Bike and rider are ok with minor injuries.

Restart
James starts from 11th on row 3 and gets a good launch and holds a tight line at druids.
Easty stabs under Irwin at Graham Hill Bend and carries the momentum past Luke Mossy at Surtees.
East ends lap one in the lead of the Cup and 8th overall in a fight with Mossy.

Mossy makes a run around the outside on the start finish straight but James leaves the braking late with his Motomaster system, and out brakes him in turn one.

Lap 3 and Mossy gets passed at Druids. James Holds this position to the flag on lap 6 to finish the race in 9th position on a time of 1:29:561 and Wins The Supersport Cup.

Easty – “ I am over the moon to get my first win in the cup, the engine felt stronger in the restart and I could run a faster pace. The top step is where I’ve been aiming for all season and now it feels possible to fight in the top 10 where I feel I should be. I want to thank my team and mechanics for working hard with the set up and engine changes. All of my sponsors helping me to be on track and everyone who came down to support me, I’m going to work hard to find the extra second I need to be battling for main championship podiums now, and my goal is to follow up this result at Cadwell Park with a similar finish and a win in the Cup once more “.
